Burak Alpaslan: Equality Through Time

Burak was educated at the internationally accredited Middle East Technical University (ODTU) and Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. While he utilizes his civil engineering background to solve problems, he uses his extensive knowledge in economics and finance to manage his client’s expectations. He worked as a civil engineer for 3 years prior to changing careers in 1995.

He joined the financial services industry at Global Corporate and Investment Bank of Citigroup in Zurich, Switzerland in 1995 where he worked as the Assistant Country Financial Controller. He was sponsored by Citigroup to join their team in New York in 1996. He held several positions as an officer with Citigroup prior to starting his financial planning practice in 2004.

As a fellow business owner, Burak’s focus has been working with business owners in creating, managing and protecting family wealth, devising succession, exit and transition strategies for their business. He helps an entrepreneur choose the right succession, retirement and benefit plans for themselves and their workforce and works with their tax and legal advisors by putting together estate planning strategies to pass their wealth to next generations in a tax efficient manner.

Morris grew up passionate about technology and helping others, ever since his parents bought their first family computer (an Apple //c) when he was 7 years old. Morris has presented to groups nationwide on topics including IT management, security, and cloud, and has been quoted in the media on both IT and business topics. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Yeshiva University.

Aside from work, Morris enjoys staying fit through running and road cycling, and has been a volunteer EMT since 1999, and is also active in several non-profit organizations. He grew up in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and children.
